Time? 9:27 pm, 09/14/04

Last Thought? I'd rather be listening to one of the songs from my Resident Evil 2 soundtrack right now.
Feeling? Quoting? "Sex alleviates tension. Love causes it."
- Woody Allen
::shakes head:: What a day. Didn't realize MCC was on spring break so I can't really talk to anyone there, and my caseworker's still out, so it looks as though I will get no cash aid this month. ::groan:: Bah. Stupid day. But tomorrow could prove to be better. Who knows?
Saw this on someone else's blog, figured I'd give it a shot. You put an X next to the things you've never done. Some things I have never done; those have X's next to them; some of them I've sort of done and those have x's. And if I haven't done it, then there's a blank space. Got it? Snarky comments in italics.

Well, I suppose I've done some interesting stuff...
I feel like shit. It's 5:46 AM and I've gotten maybe two hours of sleep...and I went to be at 9:30 PM. I think. Or maybe it was 7:30 PM. Whatthefuckever.
I also spent the whole day sick and a good majority of my awake time fighting with my mom. If I'm done with this post and still can't sleep, I may put the baby back on the bed (I put him on the floor since he'd ended up at the bottom of our twin size bunk bed and I wanted him to be able to stretch out; he was heading down there anyway) and just stya up until I can catch a nap this afternoon.
And on top of it all, my caseworker is out of town until the 22nd, so right before she leaves she send me a notice saying (once again) I won't be getting food stamps or cash aid unless I get something from my school filled out. Okay, (a) I'm exempted, which means I don't have to go to school but I did until I cam thisclose to a nervous breakdown, and (b) I'm pissed because she could have sent the notice back at the same time as sending back my financial aid check stubs instad of waiting a week. Bloody fucking hell...
Right now I just want to get away from everything. I'm not seriously sontemplating suicide or anything, more like running away. I just can't stand my life anymore, and no one can see it. They all think I'm being melodramatic, and I'm so run down I just want to fall into a pile and weep. I just wish...I don't know. Maybe I wish for a knight in shining armor who loves kids, has money, and won't make me feel like shit all the time.
Damn, there's sunlight out right now. I really should try to go back to sleep...
You know, between the crap from Adam and the crap from my mother, maybe it would be better off if I was dead. Then I wouldn't have to deal with them.
It's 4:20 am as I write this post. I'm super sick to my stomch, so I decided to get up, eat some of the jello I made a while ago and watch some TV, then do some dishes. Of course, then Mom decided to come out of her hubbyhole...I mean, her room. She went to the bathroom (which is where I was, trying not to to throw up) and then into the kitchen where she started to look for the Cool Whip she'd bought tonight. I put it in the freezer since I didn't know when she'd want it, so she started bitching at me about that, then said I did nothing around the house.
Not only that, she was thisclose to calling me the worst mother in the world. I swear, I want to break down into tears half the time I'm around her. She's so mean.Like, I'm sorry she can't find her blood pressure medication, but that isn't a reason to take it out on me. Yelling at me for doing laundry, something she's said over and over that needs to get done, doesn't help either. She told me today that Trace is the only reason I'm still able to live at home. No, the only reason I still live at hom is I can't afford to live anywhere else since she takes most of my money for bills. I have one, maybe two, fricking bras and one pair of jeans that git. I fucking hate it.
And then there's Adam. He makes me feel like I'm a microscopic little bug or some sort or vassal that he can push around. And then when I don't stand up to him, it pisses my mother off; if I do stand up to him, it pisses him off. It's a lose-lose situation.
I have no friends out here; Julie's gone, Jombi's always busy and Sara has a life revolving around her boyfriend Jason and her daughter Hailry. Nicole's getting ready for child number three and I feel so out of place, and partially resentful because I didn't get that fawned over when I was pregnant.
And I miss having a boyfriend. Fuck the fact that my mother hasn't had one in a longer period of time, but I miss it. I started to cry myself to sleep tonight because I was so lonely it physically hurt. I love my son, but he doesn't fill up that space in my heart that a boyfriend/husband does. And even these days, no matter what I do, apparently I can't love my son enough. Goddess, I feel like such a fuck-up.
I hate it here. I'm broke, I have nothing to my name, and now it looks like I'll be losing my cash aid and food stamps. If I hadn't been close to having a nervoud breakdown while in school, I'm close to one now. And you know the worst part?
Sum up your opinion or impression of me in one word, leave it as a comment in this posting, and then post this sentence in your own journal.
As for my day, all but the nice Irish food sucked since I spent it nauseated beyond belief. And I have to be up in six hours and 45 minutes to get to a psychiatrist appointment tomorrow. At least I have Anji's mix CDs to listen to during the one hour or so trip...
I'm going back to bed now. If I'm lucky, Trace won't hit me in the stomach again (which woke me up in the first place) and I can listen to the Endless Nameless mix CD Anji sent without waking The Brat Prince up. Nightie night!
Bah. I hate whiners. Not going to go into details, but I got whined to about something that isn't my fault, so I spent part of the afternoon just peeved.
I suppose I have made a decision about my life. Not a major one, but something important nonetheless. I willt ry my best, every day, to do something I either (a) haven't done before or (b) find myself having a hard time doing. For example, when I was a kid, I used to rebel against my mom by not brushing my teeth very often. Bad habits like that die hard. Now, I make a concerted effort to brush my teeth at least once a day, if not more. I want to make sure my son doesn't pick up on the bad habit that I developed.
I wat to be a good mom. I'm going to see if there's any local parenting classes that I don't have to pay for that I can attend so I can learn to be a better mom. And I'm seriously working on cleaning the house; I've been limiting most of my computer time to after 10 pm, and I'm still trying to intersperse chores while online.
Which reminds me: tomorrow I need to take out all the trash in the kitchen. Make a mental note of that I must.
So, anyway, mylife is pretty blah as of late. Who knows? Maybe tomorrow will be interesting.
Oh, and speaking of interesting, my sister's ex Aaron was at the scene of a stabbing today and helped the man who got stabbed. He already is declared a hero by the City of Vista for helping these two guys he worked with who got hit by a drunk driver. There's even a day named after him. Wonder if the City of Oceanside will recognize what he did today...but besides from that, I just want to say I want to raise my son to be like Aaron. I have much respect fro him, and theat was before he became a hero.
(Funny note to this: my sister chewed him out for touching the man's blood without gloves on. While she has a point, only my sister would actually vocalize it).
I want to say Ms. Coleman, but I swear that was my second second grade teacher's name (and it's no typo; I got moved from one class to another in second grade, so I had two teachers).
2. ...your favorite Saturday morning cartoon? Gah! Had to be "Smurfs" when I was really young, and "Garfield" as well. When I got older, it was "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and lately it's been "X-Men: Evolution" and "Yu Gi Oh" with the occasional "Pokemon".
3. ...the name of your very first best friend? I honestly don't remember, but then again, I don't remember much until I was seven. My best friend in CA was Elishia Taylor.
4. ...your favorite breakfast cereal? Chex is still my favorite. But if it had to be sweet, it'd be Rice Krispies Treats cereal. Do they even make that anymore?
5. ...your favorite thing to do after school? Go home and read. At just about every age, that was my favorite thing to do. And go bike riding; I always have enjoyed that.
***
3/14/04 - 1. What was the last song you heard? "Goody Two Shoes," covered by Unwritten Law.
2. What were the last two movies you saw? "Hope Floats" and "Celeste In The City" on TV; "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Scary Movie 3" in movie theaters.
3. What were the last three things you purchased? Um, other than a layaway (which I guess counts as a purchase, so: two bras, some underwear, a pair of jeans with a dragon embroidered on them and a present for my sister), I guess I could say some raspberry har dlemonade wine coolers and two things of corned beef brisket.
4. What four things do you need to do this weekend? Clean my room, clean out the shower so I can take a shower later in the week, soak in a bath and finish all the laundry I've been doing.
5. Who are the last five people you talked to? Um...my mom, Lowrider, my son, Anji and Adam.
I'll admit it: I'm lazy. Sue me. It's been a looooooong week. Anyway, not much happened, and I think that's why it was so long. I heard from my favorite Marine not once but twice in one week; new record! Lowrider's in Beaufort right now, actually, and he called about an hour ago to let me know that there was actually someone else there who remembered me. I swear, I think it's the football player I bought my freshman year for homecoming.
I've been doing a lot of laundry, and I keep cleaning the room, which Trace keeps turning into a disaster area. ::sigh:: Never ending battle is what this is going to be, I can just tell. But slowly, the house is starting to look better.
I figured out what I want for mother's day, since I'm not expecting anything because, well, I'm fully expecting us to be broke: I want cash so I can get my TV off layaway. I only owe $130 something dollars...
Anyway, other than the blatant plea for money, I have nothing to say, surprisingly. Weird. So I guess I'll go. Bye!
Anji reminded me it's been a while since I wrote in this sucker, so...
I got put on blood pressure medication on Friday. Seems it's hovering from anywhere between 148/80 to 177/93. Not only that, but my pulse was 120 when I was seen by the doctor. Needless to say, diet and exercise were also part of the prescription. Blech.
Trace is sick again, but not too bad. I bet he'll be better by Monday.
And I swear, I'm about ready to head up to San Fransisco and shake their mayor's hand. All for gay marriage here.
Anyway, it's about 3:30 AM. I'm bored. So...another survey! Why? because I'm evil, damnit!
ANGER 1. Who did you last get angry with? My son, because he wasn't cooperating and was thisclose to breaking the glasses I just got fixed
2. What is your weapon of choice? Intelligence.
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex?Ask Adam how many times I've hit him. Yeah, I'll do it, but for the most part I neverf hit in (real) anger. But I wouldn't put it past me.
4. How about of the same sex? I hit my stepmother for crissakes. Of course, she did hit me first, so...
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you? My mom. Definitely my mom. Came very close to being homeless Friday...or at least having very sore legs from walking home from Carlsbad with the baby (I managed to spange enough change for the bus, though, but...).
6. What is your pet peeve? When someone talks to me like I'm four.
7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily? Honestly? It depends on what was done and who did it to me. No grudges against my mom, but tons of them against my dad, for example. And the ones with my stepmother will never go away...
SLOTH 1. What is one thing you're supposed to do daily that you haven't done in a long time? Dishes. Why? Because I hate having dishpan hands.
2. What is the latest you've ever woken up? I guess it was when I went to sleep at 5AM after being up for 30+ hours and woke up at 3 AM the next morning.
3. Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't: Just one? Lowrider. I even went to the trouble of getting his cell phone number (but there's actually a legitimate reason I haven't called; I have 10 minutes left on my phonecard).
4. What is the last lame excuse you made? "I don't know how it got there. Maybe Trace moved it."
5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through (one of the long ones...)? Only when the product looks interesting.
6. When was the last time you got a good workout in? Walking from the 101 Cafe to the bus station on Monday.
7. How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock today? I turned on "Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals" for Trace twice this morning and he let me sleep until noon (when his father called and woke me up), so...twice?
GLUTTONY 1. What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice? Lately, it's been green tea/decaf mixture: 1 bag green tea to 3 bags regular cheap decaf tea for iced tea, and 1 bag green tea to 1 bag regular for warm tea.
2. Meat eaters: white meat or dark meat?: Dark meat, usually, unless there's craberry sauce. Then I'll go either way.
3. What is the greatest amount of alcohol you've had in one sitting/outing/event? The last time I went to Tiajuana when I was dating Adam. I think I had 15 drinks of various saturations of alcohol. Got sent to detox for four hours when I crossed back into the States.
4. Have you ever used a professional diet company? No, but I do occasionally drink Slim Fast.
5. Do you have an issue with your weight?Yeah. Both body image wise and health wise, though I have mysteriously lost about 30 pounds in two months.
6. Do you prefer sweets, salty foods, or spicy foods? Sweets.
7. Have you ever looked at a small house pet or child and thought "LUNCH!"? Only when they're holding something good to eat, and then I'm not looking at them when I think it.
LUST 1. How many people have you seen naked (not counting movies/family)? MEN: thesix guys I had sex with and Tomafur. And I think I saw Jason naked once, but I prefer not to think about that... WOMEN: Sara, Nicole, and I saw Julie topless, but that was because I was helping her get a sports bra on.
2. How many people have seen YOU naked (not counting physicians/family)? No clue, but I'm sure everyone who's stayed at my house has, so about 20 right there. And all the people who saw my skinny-dip in the ocean at Russell's birthday party since the bastard's took my clothes to the fire and I had to walk back out naked.
3. Have you ever caught yourself staring at the chest/crotch of a member of your gender of choice during a normal conversation? Honestly, who hasn't?
4. Have you "done it"? numerous times in countless positions? Um...duh.
5. What is your favorite body part on a person of your gender of choice? Suprisingly, I like shoulders. I don't know why. Eyes are nice, too. And yes, size does matter for me, only because I'm used to...well endowed.
6. Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute?Yeah. And a porn director, too.
7. Have you ever had to get tested for an STD or pregnancy? I get an HIV test every six months and other STD tests yearly. And as for the pregnancy one, that's how I found out I was pregnant.
GREED 1. How many credit cards do you own? None. Money orders are my best friends...
2. What's your guilty pleasure store?Amazon.com for books and movies and stuff, and Wal Mart for my offline shopping. Boneys for food.
3. If you had $1 million, what would you do with it?Spend it all. ^_^ Actually, I'd buy a house for mom, an apartment for me, a truck for my sister and set up a college fund for Trace before I even started with the investing and then the splurging.
4. Would you rather be rich or famous? Rich. No paparazzi that way.
5. Would you accept a boring job if it meant you would make megabucks? Why not? As the old saying goes, "I am easily amused..."
6. Have you ever stolen anything? Of course. I think most people have, so I'll freely admit it.
7. How many MP3s are on your hard drive? Now please note, I ripped most of the songs from CDs I gave away. I have 29 songs in my Permanent MP3 file, 15 to add to a CD for Anji, 2 for a Beatles CD for my mom and 87 to be put on my personal mix CDs, as soon as I get some more blank CDs. And note, I went through and gave away about 40 CDs.
PRIDE 1. What are things you've done that you're most proud of? Run with the Olympic Torch in 2002, been in a movie, created my webpages (and all their graphics), won as many fic awards as I have, graduated high school, had a healthy baby boy and gotten back on speaking terms with Adam.
2. What one thing have you done that your parents are most proud of? I think my mom is most proud of the fact I don't blame her for all the problems in my life because she taught me better than that.
3. What thing would you like to accomplish in your life? I'd like to write a movie based on some part of my life.
4. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place? It really depends on what it is I'm coming in second place for.
5. Have you ever entered a contest of skill, knowing you were of much higher skill than all the other competitors? Oh, yeah. Constantly. And I felt bad about winning so many fic awards that I decided to create some that I couldn't enter, to give others a chance.
6. Have you ever cheated on something to get a higher score? Only on things that don't matter, like online quizzes. I don't cheat on schoolwork.
7. What did you do today that you're proud of? I cleaned out the catbox and the diaper pail, the two most repulsively stank things in the house. I'm more proud of my mom, though, who tackled my shower.
ENVY 1. What item (or person) of your friends would you most want to have for your own? Whee! I want...I want...I think I want some of my son's innocence. And my mom's practicality. And Anji's wit. And Julie's ability to stay calm.
2. Who would you want to go on "Trading Spaces" with? Julie. I think she would make even all the hard work seem fun. I'd say Anji but she hates the show...
3. If you could be anyone else in the world, who would you be? A skinnier me.
4. Have you ever been cheated on? ::glares at Adam:: Yeah. Three times that I know of.
5. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own? A lack of stretch marks would be nice...
6. What inborn trait do you see in others that you wish you had for yourself? The ability to know when to shut up.
7. Do you wish you'd come up with this survey? Sort of.
8. Finally, what is your favorite deadly sin? Lust. Why? Because I'm a nympho.
Today (to find out that my mom has the shingles). But the last time I saw a doctor of my own was when I saw my psychiatrist on Tuesday morning.
2. ...went to the dentist? Don't ask; my dental insurance is screwed up right now so I can't go to any dentist.
3. ...filled your gas tank? I don't drive, so...never?
4. ...got enough sleep? Yesterday; I ended up sleeping for over 12 hours.
5. ...backed up your computer? It's not my computer to back up...
Having a lovely week as of late. There have been times today where I could barely talk, and now I'm coughing a lot.
As I mentioned above, my mom has the shingles. As long as she's covered up than she can help with the baby, so that's a good thing. And she's got till Monday off. That's a mixed blessing. I think that means I'll be paying a lot more rent than normal (probably $350, which I really can't spare, but...) but she'll also have a chance to get some rest. Trace is better, though, so that's good.
I finally got my glasses today. I'm getting used to wearing them after six months of not wearing any glasses at all. It's weird. Especially because, when I first got them back, I had a slight concussion; my mom's station waggon rear door fell on my head while I was putting my son's playpen in. I'll admit, I was crying like a baby. And my head hurt so bad that when I put Trace to sleep, I ended up just nodding off myself.
Which meant I missed Lowrider's call! And I don't have his number to call him back! I'd have used up all the minutes on my long distance card for that call since I hardly ever get to talk to him. Damn. I must sound pathetic. I do miss talking to him, though. There are times I wonder if he's the only sane man I ever met in Oceanside, and then I remember that I met him in Beaufort first and that must be why he seems so sane. ^_^
I actually miss Beaufort. I'd love to go visit sometime, especially with my mom, and show her around. I mean, she's heard about a lot of the places I went to or attended school at or worked at, but I'd like to be able to show her. I think it'd be neat.
Anyway, it's about ten minutes until "Witch Hunter Robin" starts, so...I'll see ya when I see ya!
I thought it might be time for a nice long survey...
Oh yeah. And I'm still sick. And it still sucks. And I slept for over 12 hours today.

Are you wearing nail polish right now: No.
Ever stolen something: Yeah. Sometimes from stores (I stopped that about 10 years ago after getting caught), and now from ex-boyfriends who are stupid enough to leave their stuff here and then piss me off later (Adam's given up on ever getting his clothing here back).
What's in your CD Player right now: I have one of my mix CD's in my Walkman, I think it's one of my techno ones. I have Velvet Chain's new CD in my alarm clock.
What annoys you: Ignorance.
What's the easiest way to tick you off: Insulting me.

Went to the doctor today. Trace has the stomach flu, a really nasty ear infection and pinkeye. Lovely...he started his meds today and the pinkeye is no longer contagious, at least.
Long day, though. I've just been really tired, and I have to drop Trace off at Jombi's tomorrow at around 9AM because I have my psych appointment at 10. She's going to watch him until Thursday so I can get some work done and my mom can recoup; I think she's going to try and go to work tomorrow (she took today off), but then luckily she's got Wednesday and Thursday off. I'm going to persuade her to get on her swimsuit and sit in the jacuzzi tomorrow, even if I have to sit in it with her. She's also trying not to talk, so it's making life around here interesting.
Anyway, other than sleeping and dealing with Trace being sick, I haven't done much. I did, however, make it a point to stay up until midnight (at least) to watch "Witch Hunter Robin," the newest anime being shown on Cartoon network. And let's put it this way...lovin it. Absolutely lovin it. You may be saying "Now, wait a second. Aren't you Wiccan? Shouldn't this offend you?" And it should, but the witches being hunted are evil, and there's actually a practicing witch on the witch hunting squad (that would be Robin, BTW). Anyway, it's worth watching. Honest.
So, I'm off to Neopets to go play around for a bit before I check the laundry I'm doing and go to bed. Night!
the internet junk slacker test deems me: 80% slacker
your clothes are properly folded, hung up and put away. you watch tv in moderation. you like to visit with friends but also like a little alone time as well. you tend to change clothes frequently and you definitely wash your hands after a visit to the toilet!
Not much to say...I'm sick, and my back hurts. Trace most likely has pink eye. Mom fell last night and hurt her back, so she's in pain. All and all, we hurt.
So I'm going to bed much earlier than I normally do. But if anyone tried to call (I didn't realize Trace had disconnected the phones this afternoon...silly boy!) I just wanted to let you all know I'm alive.
I got a nice present today...Julie's gifts arrived! I got to watch a little of "Velvet Goldmine" this afternoon, and I'm going to start reading Seduced By Moonlight later tonight.
And, on another note, only two people have wished me a Happy Valentine's Day (though one of them phrased it as Happy St. Khayman's Day...). Well, two people other than my mom, who wished me a Happy Valentine's Day last night. One was Adam. Turns out he lost his construction job because they got the work caught up more quickly than they had planned. But I think he said that two days later, his old job called him back, practically begging him to come back. ::shrug:: Good luck for him.
Anyway, I'm going to go early because the book is looking very tempting, plus I'm really hungry. ::smooch::
Trace didn't let me get to sleep until around 6 am. Every time I started to fall asleep, he'd wake up. I'd get him back to sleep. Then I couldn't sleep. And when I was finally able to sleep again, guess who'd wake up?
::shakes head:: Poor baby, though. His nose is so congested it's really making it hard for him to drink the bottles of watered down juice we're giving him, so he can stay hydrated. Sick children just have no fun, especially when they aren't able to tell someone what hurts.
I managed to get some new songs downloaded last night. I really am enjoying "Maps" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. And Joss Stone's "Fell In Love With A Boy" is an interesting twist on "Fell In Love With A Girl" byt The White Stripes. Like Joss' version much better, though. More R&B/soul inspired.
But I had to go back and get Brand New's "Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades" again. Stupid me, I deleted it, and the version I have on my burned CD is messed up. But I love this song! I have no real idea why, but I just do.
And...please, don't shoot...
Idownloaded"Toxic"byBritneySpears.
Once again, I like the song, don't know why...
I got my sister a neat Valentine's day gift; it's all Love Bug oriented. She's getting a card, a box of chocolates and a stuffed Love Bug. ::Grin:: Hope she likes it.
I got my mom a nice big mug that she can have soup in that has roses on it. It came with a stuffed frog, so I bought some Reese's Peanut Butter hearts and put the red ones in the bottom of the cup and put the frog on top. I may steal some of the gummy worms I gave her, though. I still want them, strangely enough.
I have cards to send to Anji and Julie. I just have to get them sent out tomorrow because I missed the mailman. Again.
That's the extent of my V-Day plans: give other people stuff. I haven't heard from Adam about visitation this weekend, and since I've lost his number, I can't call him. I'll bet he has plans, though...hopes his girlfriend has a better V-Day with him than I did (for those who don't know, he ditched me to broker a drug deal that evening. Oh, and that's when I got pregnant, too.).
I know my mom got me a few things (like a new beanie which I didn't have enough to buy yesterday that I wanted) so it won't be too bad of a day. I hope. I may just watch videos all day to avoid the mushy crap that's going to be on TV. I really don't want to be depressed tomorrow...
It was a long day. I spent way more money yesterday than I had planned, mostly on food, but still... After I got done with everything I had to do today (like fixing my glasses and paying off one rather obnoxious bill) and treating the family to a nice Chinese food dinner, I now have only $5 to my name. That it. And my next check is going to two things only (except for some money I'm putting in Trace's account): a layaway and a layaway. ::sign:: At least my mom said she'd help me get the TV off layaway. That'll help. Most of my actual bills are waiting till next month, which will be okay; even if I toss $100 on my layaway next month, if my mom gives me $25 towards it then I'll be safe and will have enough to cover at least Cooking Club of America, Light & Tasty, Better Homes & Gardens and a few other little bills. CCoF is the largest one at $50. And I'm going to pare down my standing Amazon order tonight to two books and a DVD. Most likely I'll get the Neil Gaiman/Alice Cooper book and the Maxine Hong Kingston book. They're the more expensive of the four, though... Well, I'll sort it out.
Though I am mightily happy with what my girl Julie (who I finally got to talk to earlier this week) is sending me: "Velvet Goldmine" on DVD and the new Laurell K. Hamilton book (yes, the same one advertised to your left). So I get boylove on DVD and nifty faerie stuff in a book. Joyous!
Speaking of my girl, at her request I put up direct links to my fic site and my fic award sites, to the left under the little Mojo Jojo boxes linking you to other place related to this site. So check them out, and if you write BtVS/A:tS fic, send it my way. Looking for nominees until March 7th.
Bah. It's 1:30 something and I finished my English assignemnt, which sucks ass. Not the assignment; actually, it was to write a letter in which a problem was brought to another person's attention and suggestions on fixing it were mentioned.
I wrote a letter to Adam about his not paying child support. I know the teacher's going to hate it; I tend to write in a much more distinguished language when I try to explain something. And this letter, were I actually to give it to him, would most likely end up crumpled up in the trash; He just wants to see Trace without having to really help me. Fucker.
::sigh:: I'm more stressed after writing the assignment than I was before. Just thinking about this whole situation bugs me. I just...I should probably go to sleep. Maybe everything will seem better tomorrow after I've rested and start to not really care what grade I get. After all, it's only one assignment. I'll do better on the others. Right?
Chirping sounds make you smile, and you envy the birds which fly above you.. You are willing to risk a lot to get what you desire and you believe it's worth every second. Just make sure to pack the working parachute and take precautions before you take that next leap.
I just woke up about 1/2 hour ago. Why? Because Trace woke up at 2:30 in the morning and wouldn't let me go back to sleep. Meaniehead...
Finally got "Once Upon A Brothers Grimm" and, thankfully, Trace adores it. Good, because it's nice to see a (somewhat cheesy) favorite old movie of mine. And I plan on watching it a lot.
Took a bath with a ravioli covered child. I swear, he hates getting his face washed, but he needed it...adding bubble bath to the water seemed to help.
Anyway, just checking my mail. Off to see the rest of the movie.
I was up until about 5 AM yesterday. Never again wil I have coffee at 8 at night...
Today I will be working hard, so we can move my futon out to throw it away and move a couch in to replace it. That futon was uncomfortable as all hell, so good riddance. I want to get a nice wooden one if I ever move out. Those are much more comfy.
Been messing with my budget. Since I'm getting money from EOPS on Wednesday, some of the things I was going to do next month I can do Wednesday and Thursday. Like paying certain bills...Citibank, the stupid fucks, will finally get the money I really shouldn't have to pay them. And Silkies will get the money for the pair of pantyhose they sent my mom that she didn't even want. But I will also pay off two magazine subscriptions, a layaway and get my glasses fixed.
But most importantly, Anji will get her six new mix CDs, along with other assorted goodies.
Funny how I rank things...best friend more important than bills...::shrug:: But they're getting paid, which means I'm getting better at this whole money management thing. Of course, I'm also blowing $45.22 at Amazon.com on four books and yet another childhood favorite of mine.
Speaking of childhood favorites, MY PACKAGE ARRIVED! I've watched my three videos; since my TV isn't working, I can't watch "High Spirits" unless I'm in my mom's room. But it was really fun watching "The Worst Witch" twice last night. I am so glad I ordered that movie...
This order I have coming up, the one I'll pay for on Wednesday, has one DVD and four books. The DVD is the old Disney version of "Babes In Toyland." I ruined my videocasette copy, so I'm just going ahead and getting it on DVD. The books are going to be neat, though. I've read Sacred Ground by Mercedes Lackey already; it was the first book of hers I read. I also ordered two Neil Gaiman books: American Gods and Last Temptation. He co-wrote the second book with Alice Cooper. Hee...
The fourth book I'm getting I wanted because I read one of the essays from it in my English 100 class last year. Reminded me of The Joy Luck Club. The book is called The Woman Warrior : Memoirs of a Girlhood Among Ghosts by Maxine Hong Kingston. I hope I like the whole book...I'm sure I will.
Anyway, I suppose I should start cleaning. Wouldn't be a bad idea, anyway. Adieu!
You are Owen. English by birth but brought up in Scotland, you have a reputation for permanently being a bit confused. However, this is not so: underneath the bemused exterior a powerful mind is at work, processing the environment and sharply reasoning about the world around you. The result is a lean, mean, thinking machine that looks a bit like a startled rabbit.
Arguably one of the nicest people anyone could hope to meet, you also have a stomach that probably defies the laws of physics. Able to actually eat more than the entire nation of Bangladesh in a single sitting, you're also impossibly slim; something some of the other Glendinning residents are perhaps a little jealous of. No matter. All will be equalised come the revolution.
1. What's the most daring thing you've ever done?
Gone to Los Angeles at night by myself via Greuhound and cab to go see a concert, then came back bia can to wait at the Grayhound station for six hours before I could get home.
2. What one thing would you like to try that your mother/friend/significant other would never approve of? I would love to go on tour with a band.
3. On a scale of 1-10, what's your risk factor? (1=never take risks, 10=it's a lifestyle) About a five, maybe a four these days since I've had Trace.
4. What's the best thing that's ever happened to you as a result of being bold/risky? I suppose for the most part it's a good thing (but sometimes not)...having Trace. I took a risk, I got pregnant...but I do love my son very much.
5. ... and what's the worst? I got a cold after I went skinnydipping in the ocean. Seriously...it's not the most major thing that's happened to me because of a risk, but it was sadly the worst.
::yawn:: I really want to go back to sleep...
I have an EOPS meeting today at noon, so I have to leave in about an hour and a half, so I'm just killing time. Then I come home to a baby free house (Jombi's watching him) and clean. Not a great way to spend the day but not bad, either.
My package is arriving today. It's at the San Marcos distribution center and is probably on it's way now, so by the time I get home from my meeting the package will be here. It had better be here by any rate. Even though my TV no longer works...
Let me explain. I have a surge protector in my room that has a lamp, an alarm clock, a DVD player and my TV plugged into it. Yesterday morning, the power was shut off. When it turned back on, my alarm clock worked and my lamp worked (far as I can tell, my DVD player does, too, but I can't really tell at the moment).
My TV won't turn on, no matter what I do.
Luckily, the night before, my mom found a great deal on a TV/VCR combo at Wal Mart and we put it on layaway (plus about $70 in DVDs, too...). So in about two months, I'll have a TV for my room. Until then, I'm reduced to using my mom's TV for my DVD watching. At least she likes "High Spirits" (one of the items in my package); I can watch that a few times in the next day or three without annoying her.
Cathryn's present and the other 1/5 of my package have also gotten sent out this week. So I think she'll be getting her present somewhere between the 8th and 10th, and I'll be getting my last package (for now; I have another one to pay for) in the next five to nine days, so I'm assuming between the 11th and the 15th. So either way I'll have "Once Upon A Brother's Grimm" around Valentine's Day.
I forgot to mention that when I got Anji's necklace in the package she sent me, I immediately took off the Blessed necklace I'd bought myself for Christmas and started to wear the rings necklace she sent. I got a compliment about it yesterday.
::yawn:: Well, since I'm not going back to sleep, might as well watch some "Murder She Wrote" and eat some breakfast, and get ready for today. Bye!
My mom, if she's not where I am when I find out. If she is, then Jombi.
2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself? As much on my Amazon.com wishlist that appeals to me at that moment that I can buy without a credit card. So, mostly movies and anime and books and music.
3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else? I'd get my mom a new house.
4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom? I'd give some to my sister so she can take a break from working and get her last two GED classes done (or go to college, if she's already finished them), and to Anji so she won't stress so much on the cost of books and whatnot, and some to Wanda so she can come out here and see my mom for the first time in about 13 years.
5. Do you invest any? If so, how? I suppose. I'm not sure how I'd do it, though...maybe I'd just buy the same stocks my mother owns, and put some in a mutual fund.
Not much to say...it's after three AM and I'm still awake. I don't feel good; I'd say what's wrong but it's a little gross. I may end up not going to English tomorrow. I'll be damned if I miss Psych again, though. I don't know. Waking up in less than four hours doesn't seem that appealing right now...
Anyway, I'm finally getting 4/5 of the birthday presents I ordered for myself. They sent it out on Saturday, and I just got notified today. So hopefully, Wednesday I'll be watching "The Worst Witch" for the first time in about nine years or so.
I suppose I should make myself go to sleep...night...
the internet junk 'how dumb are you test' deems me: 30% dumb!
overall you are not dumb, you are extremely focused and live your life by a plan, though others might see your single-mindedness as a dumb attitude
Trace is out cold. I mean, I was in the bathroom maybe five minutes and I go back into the room and he's sound asleep. What a nice thing...
I'm watching "Alice In Wonderland" for the fourth (?) time. Why? Because I'm obsessed, that's why.
Anji I didn't realize you'd called until I checked my messages at around 11 PM my time. I was sound asleep...Trace had woken me up super early this morning, around 7, and I was just bone tired after doing all the stuff I did today.
I'm starting to reread my Jayne Ann Krentz romance novels. So be forewarned: bitching about my single status may ensue.
Visitation's tomorrow. Yay. And I'm not being sarcastic, either; it's kind of nice to actually talk to Adam these days. Mostly we just compare how stressed we are. ^_^ But hey, I wasn't even expecting us to be friends ever again, either, so it's a pleasant surprise.
Anyway, it's 2 AM, I'm hungry and I was bored. So I sign off and go to prepare the cooked Ramen noodles sitting in my microwave. They're probably only warm by now...
I paid bills today, I went grocery shopping a bit today. And I bought myself a purple zip-up hooded track suit top today. And I like it.
I bring that up because it's highly unusual for me to buy anything purple to wear. Or zip up, for that matter. But my fuzzy red zip-up hoodie is too small, so I got this purple thing. And, as I said before, I like it.
Anyway. Paid five of my more pressing bills (my mom's "Woman's Day" subscription, Cathryn's birthday present, one of my cookbooks, BMG and most importantly, the house phone bill). I'm hoping to sell my Sociology book on Monday and get enough money to send Anji's package, plus get some more money to my mom for the rent. I hate being shafted for money by the welfare people...
I also splurged today (not on the top; it was only $5 and a decent investment). No, I went and bought one of my favorite movies on DVD for about $18. I got the Disney version of "Alice In Wonderland".
And then after playing all the extras, I fell asleep in the middle of the movie.
But Trace seems to like Ed Wynn's voice (he's the Mad Hatter), so I want to track down "Babes In Toyland" for us so he can watch it. Plus it's another one of my favorite Disney classic movies.
Speaking of which, I get to use $5 of the money towards the rent to put the two "Fantasia" movies down on lay-a-way, since tomorrow's the last day any store is going to get them stocked. So, please hope they buy back my Sociology book so I can cover all this...
